Oleksandr Tolstanov's professional experience combines practical medicine, management of health care institutions, public administration and medical education.He worked as a surgeon, headed medical institutions and the Health Department of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration. In 2011–2014, he held the position of Deputy Minister ofHealth of Ukraine. Participated in the preparation and implementation of systemic changes in the field of primary and emergency medical care, modernization of health care management and improvement of the regulatory framework.He has experience in European projects on reforming the Ukrainian health care system.
